Our Mission

Americana Community Center's mission is to provide holistic services to Louisville's refugee, immigrant and underserved population to build strong and healthy families, create a safe and supportive community and help every individual realize their potential. We help bridge the gap from surviving to thriving through education, family support, youth achievement, and career & financial development.

HOLISTIC DEVELOPMENT

HUMAN DIGNITY

30+ Years of Service

Services began in 1993 in response to the growing international population in Louisville. Americana was originally housed in four apartment units, where many of the refugee, immigrant, and low-income families of Louisville were living. Over the years of listening to our international neighbors and identifying what they needed in order to succeed, Americana’s community-based programs were born. In 2002, with the support of local foundations, we purchased a former school building of 55,000 square feet.

All programs and services were moved to the new location, and Americana was able to serve a greater number of our neighbors. Americana has been Louisville’s primary resource for post-resettlement refugees, immigrants, and underserved populations for 30 years.
